About Me
Welcome to another great year at Kihei Charter School! Let me introduce myself...
Education:
I began my scholastic journey at the local community college, where I received my Associates of Arts Degree. I then transferred to California State University, Monterey Bay and after completing two years I transferred to California State University, Fullerton where I obtained my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Mathematics in 2005. I still didn't have a thought in my mind that I would ever end up being a teacher. After graduation I traveled to Costa Rica and that's when my love for travel began. I decided to move to Maui after I graduated in and so I packed up two suitcases and took the plunge. I didn't know anyone or have any jobs lined up. My first job was working for Maui Dive Shop and after 4 months, I found a job online as an Educational Assistant at Kihei Charter. I applied for the job and have been at KCS for 11 years now. I love the school for its autonomy and experiential learning. The small school atmosphere creates a sense of ohana that you don't usually get at larger schools. I recently completed my Master's program and am excited to finally be done with school!
Personal:
I am originally from San Diego, California, and moved to Maui in 2006. I got married this past summer and am still trying to get used to being called Mrs. Alexander. I really enjoy painting and drawing and am working on continuing growth of my portfolio. I am a very competitive person who loves all outdoor sports and anything water related. I play beach volleyball, golf, surf, SUP, run, wakeboard, snowboard, hike, dive, play softball, yoga, just to name a few. I travel as much as I can and have taken students on trips to other countries. I like to think of myself as outgoing and friendly and my hope is to continue to make Kihei Charter the best public school in the state!
